Everywhere giant corporations are engaged in an accelerating destruction of the Planet. It is total war, no part of the planet is off-limits. The methods of production involve total destruction, waste is left behind. The corporations totally exterminate environmental opposition, community action groups, often these days with deadly force.
The small group of military industrial complexes formerly called countries are also conducting total war. This is no coincidence. They crush any opposition from any country with resources – they will invade, bomb, assassinate, infiltrate, install governments – whatever it takes to subdue the country. There will be no respect, compassion.
In western countries The Right Wing political parties are engaged in total political war to gain power. This is also no coincidence. They lie, establish fake community groups whipped up into outrage by propaganda, have fellow travellers like Breivik who kill opponents, church groups screaming of gay marriage. they make parliamentary institutions non-functional, they resist every single positive policy, they lie and lie, ignoring any correction and lying again. They discredit unions and community groups. The are supported by think tanks and media.Their interest is solely in power.
Not sure what the end game looks like on this Planet Dystopia (formerly known as Earth). But with Enron moving in to drill the shrinking Arctic, we know it has begun.
Note – written from my hospital bed where I am very ill with pneumonia. This is the first evening I have felt able to string either thought or sentence together. Hope to be home for continued treatment in couple of days.

Planet dystopia, yes, have you heard that lardarse fascist Gina Rineharts’s latest ravings on the news? Make Northern Australia a ‘special economic zone’? So she can pay less tax probably. OMG I hope a dingo eats her.

David, I will feel better when you get better. Spring is here, may it get into your step soon. As for Barrie’s comment about Daddy’s girl Gina – Africa, with employees at two dollars a day, is her vision: no doubt Sandline’s surcharge on her wages bill there would be an acceptable price.

Unfortunately, it is certainly difficult to get truth on most any volatile issue these days. I agree with you, there are liars on the right. But, there are liars on the left, in the unions, in office, in business and in community groups. Truth seems to be willingly sacrificed by agenda driven folks of any, and every, stripe.
At any rate, don’t fight the docs and get better soon!

The snowball of capitalism rolls on heedless of its effects on dear old Earth and its many populations of humans, animals and vegetation. I enjoyed your rant David, I feel the same anger and frustration sometimes.
The users and abusers are always in the news, ratbag corporations and governments, but where are the good guys? Where’s the good news?
In the sixties there was this thing called consciousness-raising, I believe it had its origin some time before that. I doubt whether the Koch Brothers or Gina have any conscience or consciousness worth raising though.
Organic farming, electric cars and behaving civilly and the like just don’t make the news, pull the viewers, or rarely anyway. Are we all violence junkies?
I can see that if I keep going with this line of enquiry that this post could go on for a long time so I’ll stop here.

Thanks Eric. Finally out if hospital on Saturday after four days intravenous antibiotics. I really was very sick. Now a couple of weeks slow recovery while taking monster antibiotic tablets. I feel ok but very low in energy.
